Anna-Jonesboro Community High School District #81 will join the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in the third statewide survey of school climate and learning conditions. The survey provides a unique opportunity for teachers, students, and parents to have a voice in improving their schools. From November 16 through January 16, teachers, students, and parents will be asked to take a 20-minute research-based survey to help identify strengths and weaknesses in their school’s learning environment. This survey will serve as an opportunity for AJCHS to reflect on progress since the last statewide implementation.
Holocaust Survivor Speaks at AJ
Marion Blumenthal Lazan, Holocaust survivor, spoke to students and staff at AJ on Tuesday. Her
story about the events that took place while she was trapped in Nazi
Germany were eye-opening to many.
Marion's story was inspiring as she went on about survival skills that she learned as a child. Even though Marion survived some hard years, to say the least, she says these are the years that shaped her life. These events made her into the woman that she is today.
For more information about Marion, please visit her website at www.fourperfectpebbles.com. Her book is also available at Book Worm, located in Carbondale.
